This half-term Reception are exploring transport past and present using class texts,’ The Naughty Bus, Emma-Jane’s Aeroplane, and a non-fiction text about old and new transport. We are exploring materials and investigating friction using toy cars! We are continuing to build on the children’s mathematical concepts as the children to develop their number composition knowledge, doubling and number bonds. As always, the children will be introduced to a range of new vocabulary using high quality texts and play, which continues to be shared with you each fortnight. This half-term the children have a car wash role-play and a bus station to support both their imagination, communication, and social skills
We look forward to our ‘Growing for Gold!’ week linked to both our responsibility to be more sustainable and British Science Week. The children will be learning how to care for their planet in a variety of ways. The children will experience a British Science Week workshop that will create a science “buzz” for our youngest children and ignite a passion for all things scientific.
